Qty: 1 x 10Ltr
For use as part of the BP forecourt sand decontamination process.
What is Petroclean?
It is a cleaning product containing safe and environmentally friendly bacteria.
It will not work until it is mixed with water (50 millilitres in 1 litre of water) to form a solution which will act on hydrocarbons. It takes 30 days for the solution to digest and treat the petrol or diesel soaked sand. After 30 days the wet sand can be re-used for another spill or it can be safely disposed of as non-hazardous waste.
The Petroclean, when in solution, will last for 7 days. After this time the bacteria will have been destroyed and the solution will not be effective.
Non-slip Surfaces
With diesel spills, after the sand has been removed, the slippery surface can be treated with a direct spray of the Petroclean solution and then brushed away. This will help remove the slip hazard.
If fuel or oil is walked into the store, again a spray of solution will remove the slip hazard.
Do I need to protect myself?
Petroclean and solution is not classified as a chemical and is a safe and environmentally efficient product for cleaning and decontaminating sand and all surfaces soiled by fuel.
Staff should however use gloves and other appropriate PPE because, in the first place, they are handling fuel contaminated material.
